Royal Artillery Attestation Papers (1883 -1942)

A day or so ago, I wrote about the Royal Artillery records that FindMyPast have just released. You can read that post HERE.

Later on I was involved in a conversation via Twitter with +Seonaid Harvey Lewis about the various purposes of the columns on the document.

What a great conversation that was, but I also thought how useful it was. So I am sharing the explanation of the information below.

  1. Not in any way an expert or close to it, and possibly a thought you'd had since May, but it's not a reference to Battery/Regiment, ie 120th battery of the 38th regiment?
If you have since found the answer it would be great if you could post.

    1. Steph, I have not since found the answer, but wonder if you are right. Will investigate and comment further.
